![]() ![]() I am surprised that more companies have not adopted their simple method. Adobe has a straight forward method and you cannot use Photoshop without logging into your account and staying logged in. People could copy 3 1/2 inch disks (remember those?) and just use the software and I remember also how much trouble the companies went through trying to find a way to put flaws in the disks to make sure they were their disks and not copies.īut now with the internet it seems much easier. In the "old days" (about 25 or 30 years ago before there really was an internet) it was a real problem for companies, although I think mostly for game companies. But to spend valuable time and money on chasing the 1% is IMHO not a bright idea.īesides they may be reading this and think "ah. What are the rules if X7 is running on a Mac under a Windows VM? How many Macs can be used?Ĭorel needs to keep a close eye out for 'blatant' miss use of their agreements. How about 2 laptops and a mini? Or 3 laptops? What does it mean to use only one system at a time? Can both computers be on at the same time if they are not running X7? Or do you have to shut down one computer before you can start the other?Īre there any restrictions about what those 3 machines can be? The example uses a stand-alone (desktop?) computer, a laptop and a mini. What is the rule if you do live in China, India, Indonesia or Vietnam? Is there a single rule for all? Or different rules for each? Are those rules looser? Or tighter? Or are there no rules at all? Legalese, which is supposed to clear up ambiguous statements, always seems to me to make them even murkier. IN A SINGLE ADDRESS, HOWEVER IT CAN ONLY BE USED BY YOU ON ONE (1) SYSTEM AT A TIME. But in all as suggested I will have installed it 8 times which theoretically is outside the allowable installs.ĭPainter wrote:Well, Isn't that enough to explain the license agreement? I am unlikely to have three computers running with X7 at the same time so in all I will only be operating a maximum of two at once maching my purchases. I have purchased two copies of PSP X7 one including a disk. And if two of them also have replaceable Win 8 drives then the count will be up to 8 installs. Now if I place PSP X7 on each of the Win 7 Laptops the count is up to 6. I likewise have 3 Laptops and have Win 7 on each of those and two of them are going to also have a hard drive replaced with Win 8 on that. They cannot be used elsewhere except on that computer, they can only be used one at a time. Now if I install PSP X7 on each of those hard drives, does that use up all my installs? XP, Win 7, Win 8 but only one operates at a time (schizophrenic I know) Changing from one system to another just requires : computer off - unplugging a Sata cable from one drive and plugging into whichever operating system I require. I have also taken another hard drive and placed in the computer and installed Windows 7 on that and still yet another and have Windows 8.1 on that. I have a desktop computer with a main drive (C) and the data drive (F). So it appears that it is OK for me to install a second copy on her computer for me to use, provided I do not use both at the same time.
